Welcome from Lorraine, Chair

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Trustee at Career Connect. We are a dynamic and innovative Charity that is making a real difference to thousands of young people and adults, helping them with expert careers guidance and support to find work and reach their full potential. Our work is needed now more than ever with the ongoing impact of the pandemic on education and work, especially for young people.

We are looking to welcome new Trustees at an exciting time in our development. We are undertaking an ambitious programme of digital development including a new website planned for 2025 and are developing our next Strategy to take us to the end of the decade.

At Career Connect we deliver a range of services and during 2023/4 we reached 97,719 people, from our work across over 226 schools delivering professional Careers guidance, to our work commissioned by 8 Local Authorities delivering support for young people who need help to re-enter employment or training. We also provide innovative services to adults in the criminal justice system by enabling rehabilitation through supporting their journey back into work or education. We now work across just under 30 prisons right across the UK.  

We have a very successful research arm within the Charity which will ensure we are always guided by the evidence of what works in supporting some of the most vulnerable in society. 

We are delighted that we are planning to welcome new Trustees to the Board, including Young Trustees, which will further strengthen our commitment to young people’s voices being at the heart of decision making. We would especially welcome applications from young people with lived experience of the issues we address as a Charity.

As you will see in our Strategy, we are committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and we would actively welcome applications from individuals across the diverse communities we support.
